Well it’s finally over. Okay, in fact it’s been over for weeks now. Boy I’m a terrific journalist aren’t I? Kindle KDP has decided that the Meg Stories are mine and mine alone Muahahahaha! Well… Insofar as I’ve, y’know, shared them with you guys. Whoever you are. Wherever you are.
I’m only writing about it now because I’ve been incredibly lazy and right now I have a choice to be social or to write a blog entry on my phone and of course I’m going to choose to write a blog entry. I mean – no brainer right?
What this means to you fans of Meg is that you can now go back to the original Meg’s and read them all over again. And tell your friends how wonderful they are. And nudge them into buying copies themselves and if they refuse to be nudged you can threaten them with bodily harm.
But they are now available again. And as soon as I get done with sitting around this beautiful lake on a beautiful day while beautifully evading my social responsibilities I will get on the task of seeing what to do with the next meg story. That’s number five if your counting. Which you really should be. It’s been finished for months now. But I’m trying to put a bit more oomph into it – a cover for one thing. I would also like to push it to more devices or even *gasp* a real book format. I know. I’ve been saying this stuff for a while. Let’s be honest – its a seriously daunting task and to accomplish it I sort of hafta face terror.
Well that’s it. Thems the story so far. More to come I swear.
I got an official email from KDP who said that they are officially looking into the issue. So progress has been made. I guess there isn’t much else to do but wait but I am pleased to report that they are working on it. Hopefully my account will be unlocked soon and all would be well.
Alright. It took some doing and some finagling and some pains and all that junk but i finally got it to work. If you’ve come to this blog via my website http://www.joshuacejka.com you know what i’m talking about. Why the long delay to get a working website/blog? Well, the real answer is: sometimes i’m a bit of a moron. But this should work. I think. Tell me if it doesn’t.
The better news is that i can now get the wordpress apps and continue my blogging extravaganza. Wow. It’ll be epic. Just like it was last time. How many blog posts do i have total? I think it’s under a hundred. Oh. There. It says right off to the left. Of course you can’t see it. Because you aren’t writing it on this on the dashboard. It says i have 53 posts. Soon to be 54.
As you can see i have changed the theme. It’s a bit busy. I don’t really like that all that much. But it stands for now.
Anyway… What’s the news? A new Meg Story is finished and in the editing stages. I’m getting a little impatient waiting for the editors to finish reading it and providing their comments. Actually, i’m only waiting for one. But it’s a much longer story and it will hopefully be available on your local Kindle when and if they ever manage to get the thing with the first two stories straightened out.
That’s looking like a bigger ‘if’ than i ever anticipated. But i’ll save that story for some other time.
Anyway. I am also hard at work on the novel. It’s hovering around 150,000 words or so – i think. But it is going to require extensive editing. I can already tell that the first four chapters or so need to be heavily rewritten.
Well that’s all i have for now. Must go get ready to head off to Chicago tonight. I’m going to see Tenacious D… somewhere.
Well there is a method to my madness. A Quick blog before work. I am going to TRY to connect this blog (with major revisions and upgrades) in the next few weeks to my website: joshuacejka.com. Hopefully this will help Amazon understand that it was I, Joshua Cejka, the great, the noble, the truly tasteless, who wrote and herein published The Short Man and Too Much Piece of Mind. Because right now they think that someone else owns this here blog and that i did not, in fact, write either of those literary masterpieces. This has caused them to lock my account on Amazon KDP. Which means even fewer (as in none) people can access and enjoy those aforementioned literary masterpieces.
Obviously this makes me less than happy. Plus they haven’t responded to my emails. Do they respond to emails? I’m beginning to wonder if maybe the Hal 9000 is behind all of this…. Hmm….
Must go to work. But in case you missed it (mainly because i haven’t posted anything on this blog in forever and a day) there are two more Meg Brown Short Mysteries available on Amazon at present. I think. Unless they’ve removed those too just to be thorough. They are “The Angry Birds” and “And Worms Have Eaten Them.” Go get em while you can. If you can.
Oh and i’m working on a fifth. Still. It’s in the editing stage right now where it has been forever even though the draft is well and truly finished because i am waiting with much much much anticipation from the few select readers i have chosen to give it too. No hurry readers… Take your time… (taptaptaptaptap….)
